Crazy Funny Strips by Martymixx AKA Martin Skauen

Martymixx

Martymixx aka Martin Skauen (b.1975, Norway) is interested in the suspension of reason. And the seeking of sense and meaning within the irrational. With his imaginative art world critique, absurd depictions of the creative artistic process, and casually deep and hilarious observations of modern life. Skauen’s work can be read in terms of the Surrealist strategy of rupture and discord. His subjects are located directly between ordinary experience and pure chaotic contingency.

Selected exhibitions include “Flesh & Blood”, Museum on the Seam, Jerusalem. “Slideshow Johnny”, Art Statements, Art Basel; “Lights on Contemporary Norwegian Art”, Astrup Fearnley Museum of Modern Art, Oslo. “Against Exclusion”, Moscow Biennial; “Destroy Athens”, Athens Biennial; “Whenever it Starts it is the Right Time”, Frankfurter Kunstverein, Frankfurt.

Skauen is a member of Tegneklubben, a drawing collective based in Oslo.
